Susie Lidstone

Susie Lidstone is a British watercolour artist renowned for her detailed architectural paintings, particularly those depicting the historic buildings and alleyways of Farnham, Surrey. Her work captures the unique character of each structure, with a particular emphasis on the intricate textures of bricks and the interplay of light and shadow. Lidstone's fascination with architecture is evident in her meticulous attention to detail, bringing to life the rich heritage of the areas she portrays.

A graduate of the West Surrey College of Art and Design, Lidstone has been painting professionally for over 30 years. She is a full member of the Society of Architectural Illustration, a distinction held by only a few women worldwide. Her dedication to architectural subjects is further demonstrated through her exhibitions, such as the "Lost Alleys of Farnham" at New Ashgate Gallery, which showcased paintings of hidden architectural gems in her hometown.

Lidstone's work not only documents architectural heritage but also evokes a sense of place and history, inviting viewers to appreciate the beauty and stories embedded in everyday structures. Her paintings serve as a testament to her passion for architecture and her skill in capturing its essence through watercolour
