Judith Watson

Judith Watson is a British textile artist renowned for her unique, one-of-a-kind pieces that blend abstract design with tactile surfaces. Her work is characterised by the manipulation, cutting, and deconstruction of fabric, which she then embellishes with both machine and hand stitching. This process results in dynamic, textured artworks that invite viewers to engage both visually and physically. Watson's creations are often described as "functional works of art," suitable for display or as bespoke commissions.

Watson holds a Bachelor of Arts in Embroidery from Loughborough College of Art and Design. Her professional experience spans various sectors, including costume design for theatre and ballet, as well as collaborations with interior designers across the UK. In pursuit of a more tranquil lifestyle, she relocated to Crete, where the vibrant colours and landscapes of the island have significantly influenced her artistic expression.

In addition to her studio practice, Watson is actively involved in the art community, offering workshops and participating in exhibitions.
